The University of Indonesia is the oldest university in Indonesia, tracing its institutional history to the Dutch colonial period in 1849. The Institute for Advanced Research (IFAR) at the Lembaga Penyelidikan Ekonomi dan Masyarakat (LPEM), University of Indonesia, represents a pioneering initiative in the realm of social sciences, economics, and policy studies. Established through a collaboration between the Indonesian Scholarship and Research Support Foundation (ISRSF) and LPEM, IFAR-LPEM UI stands as the fourth member of the IFAR Consortium. This institute provides research fellowships to emerging scholars of exceptional potential, fostering an environment where innovative and original research flourishes.
